Prof. Graham Sandford

GS obtained his Ph.D. in Organofluorine Chemistry at Durham, under the supervision of Prof. R.D. Chambers. After a period as a postdoctoral research fellow in the laboratories of Prof. George Olah (USC), he transferred back to Durham. Following post-doctoral support from F2 Chemicals Ltd. (BNFL), he was awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship, which began in October 1996. He was appointed to a Lectureship in the Department of Chemistry at Durham (2001), Senior Lecturer (2004), Chair (2008) and Deputy Head Science Faculty (2012-15).  He has published over 150 research papers, review articles and patent applications, mainly in the field of Organofluorine chemistry.
